Instructor Chengyue

Chengyue

Instructor Chengyue has held a lifelong curiosity toward the nature of the world and the inner workings of the human mind. His path of cultivation began with psychology, was opened further through the Sufism, and ultimately found its home in Taoism—where he committed fully to the development and transmission of Shengxuan Daoism.

In his early career, Chengyue was a senior lecturer in the fields of psychology and the research of personality structure. He trained under founders and leading figures of the International Enneagram Association (IEA), including Stanford psychiatry professor David Daniels, MD. He became one of the first in Asia to integrate the four major Enneagram schools into a unified teaching model, and later founded the ENP Enneagram Academy, which became the first IEA-certified institution in the region. In addition, he studied psychoanalysis, family therapy, and hypnotherapy in depth, further expanding his perspective. This broad foundation of knowledge and teaching experience fueled his sustained inquiry into the cognitive dimension of human transformation.

In 2014, while tracing the origins of the Enneagram, Chengyue encountered Sufi practice. Immersing himself in its methods, he engaged deeply with rituals, inner disciplines, and the devotional aspects of the tradition. This experience opened him to the question of spiritual transformation beyond belief alone. The reverent depth of the Sufi path widened his view of human spiritual systems—but over time, he began to sense a missing element: a clear system of principles and a concrete, verifiable path of transformation.

Over the following years, Chengyue continued exploring other traditions—Buddhism, Christianity, Judaism—seeking a point of convergence between cognitive models and true spiritual verification.

In early 2020, he met Master Xuanchu for the first time. Through a series of in-depth conversations, he brought forth the accumulated questions of his journey—and found, to his surprise, that each was answered. Not only through coherent theory, but through clearly defined stages of practice involving the body, energy systems, and spiritual refinement.

This marked the beginning of his Daoist cultivation, and he officially became a disciple of Master Xuanchu. Under the guidance of Master Xuanchu, he engaged in sustained, embodied cultivation.

In the years that followed, he experienced a deep inner shift—from being led by cognitive frameworks to being transformed through actual cultivation. He gradually integrated his past knowledge while opening the channels between mind, practice, and the unified refinement of body and spirit.

In 2024, Master Xuanchu formally introduced Shengxuan Daoism—a path grounded in Dao as its faith, guided by Xuan (the infinite mystery), and verified through real cultivation. To Chengyue, this system is more than logically coherent: it unites physical practice, qi refinement, mental clarity, and inner vision into a complete path of transformation. Compared to other systems that remain hidden, fragmented, or bound by belief, Shengxuan Dao offers a method rooted in reason, stripped of mystification, and directed squarely at the source.

For this reason, Chengyue chose not only to study—but to help build. He now integrates his extensive teaching expertise with the inner verifications of Shengxuan Dao, focusing on curriculum design, pedagogical clarity, and systemic expression. He also teaches a course comparing Eastern and Western religious systems, offering a broader view for modern seekers. His aim is to help Shengxuan Dao become a fully walkable path—knowable, practicable, verifiable, and shareable.
