NEW COURSE: Taoist History 101!
Instructor Zhaoning is a direct disciple of Master Xuanchu. As a key instructor within the Shengxuan Daoism, she is devoted to introducing this living tradition to the English-speaking world, bridging language, culture, and practice.
Since childhood, she felt drawn to dimensions beyond the mundane. She later pursued philosophy at the University of British Columbia in Canada, seeking clarity through reason. Yet, the more she studied, the more she sensed a gap—between thought and being, between theory and life. As the questions deepened, so did a growing sense of meaninglessness.
In 2020, she formally became a disciple of Master Xuanchu. Through real cultivation, she walked out of depression and inner fragmentation. In practice, she found not escape, but direction. Her life began to re-orient—from questioning the world, to walking and guiding others a path that could be known, practiced, and confirmed.
From 2022 to 2023, having reached foundational stability, she began introducing Taoist teachings in Vancouver. Over time, she engaged with more than 200 people through in-person workshops, and was invited to teach Taoist Zhanzhuang (Standing Practices) to staffs at the UBC Asian Library. These experiences allowed her to develop a grounded approach to cross-cultural guidance.
In 2024, she joined Master Xuan Chu in articulating the Shengxuan Dao System. Her focus is to render its depth in a form that international seekers can truly enter—not through borrowed mysticism, but through clear steps, lived insight, and personal verification.
Her teaching is methodical, sincere, and inwardly rooted. With the thinking of a philosopher and the clarity of a cultivator, she builds quiet bridges—between worlds, and toward the source.
